Rape Attempted At 195 Rest Stop

Washington State Patrol troopers are looking for a man who tried to rape a woman at a north Whitman County highway rest stop.

The attack happened about 3 p.m. Monday at the Rosalia rest stop on state Highway 195. The victim escaped from her assailant and was not seriously injured, troopers said.

The suspect left driving southbound on Highway 195 in a large, yellow or gold 1970s-model car, troopers said. He is described only as “dark.”

Anyone with information about the attack, suspect or car should call the Washington State Patrol at 456-4101.
