Sel To Expand
Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) in Pullman announced plans Thursday to add a new 62,500-square-foot manufacturing plant at the Port of Whitman County Industrial Park.
The building, with completion scheduled by the end of the year, will increase SEL’s operating space by more than 70 percent, said president and founder Ed Schweitzer. The company, which now employs 334, designs and manufacturers protective relays and other products for electric power systems.
SEL also announced the appointment of Jack Merrow as vice president of marketing and customer service, Ronald A. Schwartz as vice president of quality and Douglas Voda as vice president of operations.
Merrow was with Leviton Telecom in Bothell, Wash. Schwartz was with International Quality Associates, a Beaverton, Ore., consulting firm. Voda was with Key Tronic in Spokane.
