Teenagers Rob, Beat Cab Driver

Three teenage boys robbed and beat a taxicab driver Thursday, Spokane police said.

The cabbie said he picked up the trio about 6:30 a.m. at an Exxon station near Starr Road and Trent Avenue in the Valley.

As they drove into Spokane, one of the fares pulled out a pistol and robbed the driver, police said. The teenagers then beat the man before jumping out of the cab near Second Avenue and Stone Street and running away.

The victim was treated and released at a local hospital, police said.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
