We’Ve Had Winners, And There Will Be Another

There was a winner last year in the St. John Hardware and Implement Company half-court shot for the RCA entertainment system after all.

It reported that there had only been one in the history of the contest - in 1997.

According to Alice Hofmann who “does the leg work for the contest,” last year Tim Paris of Seattle won a 52-inch television.

“Actually, it’s rare if we don’t have a winner,” said Hofmann.

Andy Gumm, a junior at Tekoa-Oakesdale hit a half-court shot on Friday night. He hasn’t won the TV yet. First he has to see if another fan makes one today. If so, there will be a free-throw shootoff before the girls’ title game.
