Fairchild Plans Y2K Info Fair
Fairchild Air Force Base will host a Y2K Information Fair Saturday to help Inland Northwest families prepare for possible disruptions in services caused by computer failures.
The event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Club Fairchild on the base, is free to the public.
Officials with Avista Corp., the city of Spokane, American Red Cross and others will provide briefings and exhibits.
The Y2K problem concerns the threat of older computers, software and electronic devices malfunctioning when their internal clocks are unable to interpret the change to the year 2000.
For more information about the fair, call Lt. Chris Baade at 247-5487.
