Grant To Be Used For Tree Inventory

The city of Post Falls Urban Forestry Program has received a $3,700 grant from the National Tree Trust for education and training related to community forestry.

The National Tree Trust is a private, nonprofit organization that promotes planting and maintaining trees in communities.

Panhandle Lakes Resource Conservation and Development, of which the City of Post Falls is a member, assisted with the grant application.

The city plans to use the grant to complete projects such as street and park tree inventory, park resource mapping and educational workshops for citizens, said Nolan Philips, Post Falls urban forester.
