Jokesters Alter Club’S Reader Board

A Moscow nightclub’s controversial downtown reader board fell into the hands of pranksters Friday.

All week, the board at The Beach has advertised a high school spring break bikini contest - to the consternation of some Moscow residents and parents who disapprove of the event.

The club’s promoters have dismissed criticism of the contest as exploitative or inappropriate, saying it’s simply a 10-minute entertainment event planned as part of a fun, nonalcoholic teen dance.

Friday morning, the reader board at the intersection of Main and Third streets read, “Pre School Spring Break Bikini Contest, Fri 9 p.m.”

The event, for high schoolers, is scheduled to go on as planned.
