Would-Be Robber Sought By Fbi

From Staff

FBI agents are looking for a man who tried to rob a Spokane bank branch Thursday but left empty-handed when a teller ignored him.

Witnesses said the man walked into the Farmers and Merchants Bank branch in the Tidyman’s grocery store at 6405 N. Addison about 2:40 p.m.

He demanded money from a teller, but the man turned and walked away from him, Spokane police said.

After waiting several minutes, the would-be robber walked out of the branch.

Witnesses said the man is white, between 35 and 40, with a medium build. He was wearing sunglasses, a wig, a sport coat and tie at the time of the incident.

He did not show a weapon.

FBI agents suspect him of several other bank robberies in the Inland Northwest.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
