Man Arrested For Dui After Rolling Minivan

From Staff Reports

A 55-year-old Rockford man remained in serious condition Monday with injuries he suffered when his minivan rolled along U.S. Highway 95.

Robert L. Mackey was thrown from his 1992 Dodge Caravan during the crash about 9 p.m. Sunday near Worley, according to the Idaho State Police. Officers suspect alcohol was involved.

Police said the van strayed onto the right shoulder while Mackey was driving north along Highway 95 and crossed the center line when he overcorrected. The van hit an embankment and rolled.

Mackey was flown to Kootenai Medical Center where he was arrested on charges of drunken driving and driving without privileges, the ISP said. He was being treated Monday in the hospital’s intensive care unit, a hospital spokesman said.
