A body found Monday in the Snake River has been identified as James Curtis Watkins III of Lewiston, officials said.

Watkins fell into the river at the Red Wolf Crossing bridge in west Clarkston in late January, officials in Whitman and Asotin counties said.

Police believe Watkins may have lost his balance and fallen over the bridge railing in an area where pedestrians are not allowed.
