Millwood shows how to run things
People living outside Millwood wonder why:
The residents of Millwood pay lower taxes than anybody in Spokane County and get the services we get.
Millwood is still the only town that picks up leaves with new trucks. Millwood’s streets are plowed several times before most people even see a plow on their street.
Millwood has no potholes in its streets. The county cannot afford such repairs, but Millwood keeps its streets looking like new.
How Millwood residences can hook up to a newly completed sewer system for a GFC of $555? Could it be that the mayor and council looked to the future and planned? All other county residences are paying a four-digit figure for the same privilege.
Millwood has new water lines with new state-of-the-art pumps to supply good water pressure. It also keeps our fire insurance rating great.
Millwood has a full-time, dedicated fire chief with over 20 welltrained firefighters and EMTs. They have new trucks, radios, equipment, and training to service just one square mile.
How much equipment and firefighters does the county have for every square mile?
I think you are starting to see the big picture. It has been suggested we raise taxes so that we can have everything the county enjoys. No thank you.
But I think that the county could take a few lessons on how government should be run. Frank Cook Millwood
