Hike The Course Backpacking Schools

Two Spokane-area groups are taking enrollment for their annual seven- or eight week spring backpacking schools, which teach all the basics one needs to hike, cook, navigate and camp safely and efficiently. Both of these excellent schools conclude with graduation hiking trips.

The Backpacking Club’s school starts April 9. Cost: $30 plus textbook. Membership required. Discounts for families and couples. Info: 467-8099.
