Robber Stops To Get Beer, Cigarettes

A man with a gun robbed a Spokane convenience store late Friday, pausing to grab cigarettes and beer on his way out.

Police said the bandit, gun in hand, entered the 7-Eleven at Fifth and Thor about 11 p.m. He walked up to the register, where two customers were waiting, and demanded cash from the clerk.

After she gave him money, he ordered her to give him some cigarettes. He then walked over to the cooler, took a half-case of Budweiser, returned to the counter for his cigarettes and left.

He was last seen running from the store.

The clerk and customers described him as white, 5 feet 11 inches tall, with light-colored hair. He wore dark clothes. A blue bandana covered part of his face.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
