Disabled Citizens Will Lobby Legislators
The Coalition of Responsible Disabled is flying nearly three dozen members to Olympia today to lobby the Legislature.
CORD interim director Linda Schappals said members of the group will tell legislators how important it is to live in their own home and not be placed in an institution.
They’ll also lobby for pay increases for personal attendants, many of whom are paid by the state. The group is also advocating legislation that gives developmentally disabled people more say in their treatment, Schappals said.
