Development Ok Prompts Lawsuit
The Five Mile Prairie Association plans to sue Spokane County over a land-use decision regarding the proposed Prairie Breeze development April 2, said Candace Dahlstrom of the Five Mile Prairie Neighborhood Association.
The project, approved by the county hearing examiner Jan. 28, involves the division of 49.19 acres into 138 lots for single family residences. Located west of Five Mile Road and north of Johannsen Road, it is one of three projects planned for the area by developer Greg Yost.
The Five Mile Prairie Association disagrees with the hearing examiner’s decision on several points, including when the project was vested, whether the plat conforms to the Spokane County Comprehensive Plan and the project’s compliance with zone density.
They also claim that the project’s final environmental impact statement is inadequate, and that several planned and approved projects were omitted from the traffic impact analysis.
