Tea, Tires And Tulips Welcome Springtime
It’s time once again for Tea, Tires and Tulips.
The annual celebration of spring at Opportunity Presbyterian Church, 202 N. Pines, is set to run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. next Saturday.
During the day, English tea will be served and several classic cars will be on display as part of Motorama ‘99. Gardeners will be able to purchase several different varieties of plants and flowers and kids will be able to make crafts while parents browse.
The church is also changing its worship schedule this weekend to accommodate people running or walking in Bloomsday on Sunday. Services will begin at 7 p.m. today and 11 a.m. Sunday.

Millwood Pres spaghetti feed
Millwood Presbyterian Church, 3223 N. Marguerite Road, will host a pre-Bloomsday spaghetti dinner and dessert auction today from 5 to 8 p.m.
The cost is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $3 for children ages 5-12. Those 4 and under are free.
Proceeds will benefit the children’s hand-bell choir.
The church will also host a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. next Saturday. Many varieties of plants will also be available.
Service for victims of violence
St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 304 S. Adams Road, will host a candlelight remembrance service for victims of violence Sunday following the 7 p.m. youth Mass.
The service will focus on recent events in Littleton, Colo.
All are welcome to attend.
Opportunity Christian fellowship
The Valley Church Women United will host a Fellowship Day worship service and luncheon at noon Friday at Opportunity Christian Church, 708 N. Pines.
The theme of the event is “God’s Sweet Surprises: Angels, Mentors and Friends.”
The featured speaker will be Mary Stamp, editor of the Fig Tree newspaper.

St. Joseph’s spring luncheon
St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 4521 N. Arden Road, will host its annual Altar Society spring luncheon Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Lilac lunch at Valley Methodist
The women of the Spokane Valley United Methodist Church, 10422 E. Main, will host their annual Lilac Luncheon at noon Saturday, May 15.
The featured speaker will be Margo Long of Whitworth College.

Three speakers at Pines Baptist
Pines Baptist Church, 714 S. Pines, will have three guest speakers during its 6 p.m. worship service Sunday.
The trio will be speaking about the status of several mission projects being run in Romania by the International Assistance Program.
The speakers are Joseph Stefanuti, pastor of Holy Trinity Church in Braila, Romania; Ina Popescu, director of the Braila Home of Hope; and Camile Maras, an opera singer.
Valley Assembly rummage sale
The Valley Assembly of God Church, 15618 E. Broadway, will put on a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.
Proceeds will benefit the youth choir.
