Corps Plans Exercises On Fighting Floods
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is holding flood fighting exercises in the Inland Northwest this month to prepare for potential flooding.
A flood team will meet with local county officials to review policy, inspect levee systems, identify potential problems and check on emergency facilities and equipment.
Exercises are scheduled for May 10-13 in Coeur d’Alene and Okanogan, Wash., May 17-21 in Flathead and Kootenai, Mont., and May 18-21 in Clark Fork, Idaho. Dates for a flood exercise on the St. Joe River have not been scheduled.
