St. Stephen’S Episcopal Installing New Rector

The Rev. John Shepard will be formally installed as the rector at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church during a special worship service at 5 p.m. Saturday.

Shepard arrived in Spokane in September.

He was ordained in 1991 after graduating from the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, Calif.

He previously spent 20 years as a practicing attorney.

The church is located at 5720 S. Perry.

First Presbyterian rummage sale

First Presbyterian Church, 318 S. Cedar, will host its annual spring rummage sale this weekend.

The sale will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Proceeds will benefit several different mission programs and community projects supported by the church.
