Manito Center Owners Join Forces

From Staff

Ownership of the Manito Shopping Center, long divided between the building owner and the land owner, has been consolidated in a joint venture called Manito Shopping Center Associates LLC.

The shopping center, at 29th and Grand, currently houses Lamont’s, Rite-Aid and Super 1 Foods.

The 125,500-square-foot development was built by PayNSave Corp. in the late 1960s on land owned by the Walther family.

Ownership of the buildings later passed through several hands before resting with Triple S Properties LLC, a New York investor, last year.

Since the 1998 acquisition, Triple S and the Walther family, doing business as Manito Crestville Co., have negotiated a merger, said John Bennett, president of Tomlinson Black Management Inc., which handled the transaction.
