Northwest Airlines Faces Labor Action

After going nearly three years without a new contract, the union representing flight attendants at Northwest Airlines is mailing strike authorization ballots to members.

Lack of movement on pension issues in the latest round of talks forced the union to seek rank-and-file authorization to order a strike against the nation’s fourth-largest airline, said Teamsters Local 2000 President Billie Davenport.
