Police Seek Suspect In Beating-Robbery

Spokane police are seeking information on a man they believe beat and robbed a 16-year-old boy last month.

The incident occurred about 7 p.m. on April 12. The teenager told police he was beaten and kicked by three men who lured him to Cannon Park from a South Hill convenience store.

The victim also said the attackers stole his jacket and watch.

A security camera at the convenience store - the Zip Trip at 10th and Maple - got a photograph of one of the men the boy said attacked him, according to police. Detectives released the photo this week.

The suspect is about 18 years old, 5 feet 11 inches tall and thin. His brown hair was slicked back the night of the attack and he was wearing a light-colored Pittsburgh Steelers jacket.

The victim said the robbers were in a white 1980s Chevrolet pickup that night.

Anyone who knows the man in the picture, or has other information in the case, is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
