Comment Sought On River Basin
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will take public comment at meetings regarding metals levels in the Coeur d’Alene River Basin.
The agency is taking comments on recently released heavy metals limits for the Coeur d’Alene basin Tuesday at the Wallace Inn in Wallace and Wednesday at the Lake City Senior Center in Coeur d’Alene. Both sessions include a two-hour informational meeting starting at 6 p.m. followed by a two-hour hearing to accept public testimony from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Representatives from EPA and the Idaho Division of Environmental Quality will answer questions during the meetings.
People who want to testify during the hearing need to sign up by 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. Comments will be accepted on the Total Maximum Daily Load metals levels, or “TMDLs,” until June 15.
