Flames Retain Coaching Staff
The Calgary Flames retained coach Brent Sutter and his assistants for next season after the team finished 30-40-12 and out of the NHL playoffs.
Flames general manager Al Coates said picking up the option on Sutter’s contract was never in question.
Sutter was paid $280,000 for the 1998-99 season. Terms weren’t disclosed. His staff consists of Rich Preston, Al MacNeil and Jamie Hislop.
