Utility Refunds Due

From Staff

The Kootenai Electric Cooperative will return $282,561 to members who bought power in 1977 and 1978, Marketing Director Larry Bryant said Wednesday.

Payments, called capital credits, are made to past customers annually based on the amount of retained profits held by the member-owned utility, which is based in Hayden, Idaho.

Bryant said about 6,100 former members are eligible this year. Refunds will vary, depending on how much power they bought, he said.
