Zone Change Sought At 28Th, Ray

The owner of six lots at 28th and Ray is seeking a zone change so an office building could be built on the property in the future.

A public hearing before city Hearing Examiner Greg Smith is scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday at City Hall.

David Groenig has applied to change the zoning from residential use to apartment and office use.

However, he has not submitted any plans for a project, city planning officials said.

The property is at 3140 E. 28th and currently has two houses on it.

So far, residents of the neighborhood have not voiced any objections to the proposed change.
