Man Faces Hearing On Reservation Death
A federal detention hearing is scheduled Wednesday for a Lapwai man charged with voluntary manslaughter for the Dec. 16, 1997, death of Willis T. Greene on the Nez Perce Indian Reservation.
U.S. Attorney Betty Richardson said on Thursday that Isaak William Johnson, 23, who also has a residence in White Swan, Wash., has waived his right to be indicted by a federal grand jury and plans to challenge the government’s right to prosecute him.
