Churches Offering Vacation Bible Schools
We know that summer is just around the corner when churches begin signing up students for vacation Bible school. Three Valley churches are putting the final touches on sessions to be offered in June.
Peace Lutheran Church and East Valley Presbyterian Church will jointly offer vacation Bible school classes from 6:30 to 8 p.m. June 14-17.
All classes will be at Peace Lutheran, 4124 N. Harvard Road.
Each session will include Bible stories, skits, crafts, singing and snacks. All children age three through the sixth grade are welcome to participate in the free sessions. There is no registration deadline.

Christ Lutheran Church, 13009 E. Broadway, will offer its vacation Bible school classes from 9 to 11:30 a.m. June 21-25. The sessions, with the theme “The Great Bibleland Dig - Exploring the Life of Jesus,” are open to all children age four through the sixth grade.
The cost is $10 per child, with a maximum of $20 per family. A T-shirt is included and scholarships are available. To register or for more information, call the church office at 928-7733.
The Spokane Valley United Methodist Church, 10422 E. Main, will run its program, “Good News and Gospel Rock,” from 9 a.m. to noon June 14-18. Students will learn about Jesus through the life of Peter.
All children age four through the fifth grade are welcome to attend the free classes. Registrations should be completed before classes start. Call the church at 924-7262 for more information or to register.
The church is also switching to its summer worship schedule on Sunday. One service will be offered at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday.
Singers at Berean Bible Church
The Grace Singers of Grand Rapids, Mich., will perform during the 8:30 and 11 a.m. worship services Sunday at Berean Bible Church, 10190 E. Boone.
The singers are students at Grace Bible College and will present a program of traditional and contemporary Christian music called “Three Lessons of Grace.”
Sale at Zion Lutheran
Zion Lutheran Church, 8304 E. Buckeye, will have a parking lot sale next Friday and Saturday.
The sale will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Proceeds will be used to send the church youth to summer camp.
Zion is also beginning its summer worship schedule this week. A traditional service will be offered at 8:30 a.m. and a contemporary service will begins at 10:15 a.m. each Sunday.
Benefit for mission trip
Opportunity Presbyterian Church, 202 N. Pines, will host a garage sale today from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceeds will be used to help fund an upcoming mission trip to Mexico.
Valley Nazarene summer switch
The Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene, 10814 E. Broadway, will switch to its summer worship schedule Sunday. Sunday school classes will now begin at 9:30 a.m. and one service will be offered at 10:45 a.m. each week.
