Colville, Freeman In Semis

District 7 will make up half of today’s State 2A/1A/B fastpitch softball final four as Colville (18-5) and Freeman (17-3) both advanced.

Kettle Falls (14-7) was eliminated after suffering two close losses.

The Scotties (17-3) shut out Kalama 6-0 behind Leslie White’s nine strikeouts. They followed with a 23-1 rout over Foster in a game highlighted by a 13-run sixth-inning. Nicki Roecks was 3 for 4 with five RBIs and Michelle Kiddoo went 4 for 5 with four RBIs. Freeman will meet Toutle Lake (12-9).

Colville’s wins were against Ridgefield, 17-1, and Montesano, 7-1. The Indians will face Othello (20-1) in its semifinal.

In Kettle Falls’ opener, Othello’s Cina Ochoa (0.37 ERA) pitched a perfect game, striking out nine in a 2-0 win. The Bulldogs lost to Adna 2-0 in their loser-out game.
