… Thank a teacher. Congratulations to Marvin Sather of Riverside High School. He recently was named Washington State Teacher of the Year 2000. The English teacher with 31 years of experience on his resume has opened up the world of language and literature to thousands of students.

The award is not merely ceremonial. The winners serve as role models and consultants. Judy Bieze, Idaho Teacher of the Year 1999, has spoken at conferences and in front of Idaho lawmakers.

Teachers of the Year are a reminder that great people still find their way into this important profession - influencing lives beyond anyone’s imagining.
