Pomeroy Man Found Dead

A 92-year-old Pomeroy, Wash., man who disappeared last month was found dead in Whitman County on Tuesday, authorities said.

A farmer found Archie Bryan’s body in a remote area in the southwest portion of the county about 9 a.m., Whitman County deputy M.D. Steinmetz said.

Bryan was in his car, which was parked near some outbuildings. He committed suicide, Steinmetz said. Further details were not released.

Bryan disappeared from Pomeroy on Oct. 25. Authorities said he drove his 1981 Honda Accord out of town and wasn’t heard from again.

There were reports of his car being spotted in Lewiston a few days later, but authorities could not track him down.

Relatives told police Bryan had recently changed medications and had been having negative reactions to it.
