Shouting Match Ends With Arrest

A shouting match between a man and a woman in the 1300 block of East Gordon prompted a call to Spokane police Monday at about 3:15 a.m.

Neighbors said the two were shouting and shoving each other and, at one point, the man smashed his hand into the windshield of a parked car, said police spokesman Dick Cottam.

Officers spotted the two suspects and took the woman into custody. The man ran, but officers located him in the 1200 block of East Glass. Anthony C. Jones, 28, no address, had fresh, bloody cuts on his hand, Cottam said.

The woman was identified as Debra J. Tackett, 18, who gave her address as 2207 W. Dean. She ran at an officer waving her fists and refused a command to stop, Cottam said. She was taken into custody and handcuffed, then booked on charges of obstructing and resisting arrest.

Jones was identified by witnesses as the man who broke the windshield, Cottam said. He was booked into jail on a charge of malicious mischief, a felony.
