Shoplifting Suspect Who Pulled Knife Arrested
A suspected shoplifter who pulled a knife on a grocery store security guard was arrested for robbery Thursday, Spokane police said.
Timothy C. Miller, 22, was booked into the county jail on suspicion of first-degree robbery, a felony.
The incident occurred about 5:15 p.m. at Yoke’s grocery store at 4507 W. Wellesley, police said.
A store security guard told police he saw Miller take a pack of cigarettes and leave without paying.
The guard and another employee said they confronted Miller in the parking lot. Miller swore at them, pulled out a knife and lunged at the guard, police spokesman Dick Cottam said in a press release.
The guard wasn’t hurt.
Miller ran away but was spotted by an officer and arrested a few minutes later.
