Stroke Screenings Will Be Conducted
Free stroke screenings will be conducted at three locations throughout the community this week.
Because stroke is the third leading cause of death in the nation, the Community Health Education and Resources Program and area hospitals are sponsoring the screenings.
People who have diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease or use tobacco are considered at high risk for stroke. Appointments for the screenings are required and can be made by calling 473-6975.
Screenings will be:
Thursday at the Northeast Community Center, 4001 N. Cook, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m..
Friday at Valley Hospital and Medical Center, 12606 E. Mission, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Thursday and Friday at St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute Medical Building, 715 S. Cowley. The Thursday screenings are from 5 to 8 p.m. The Friday screenings are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
