NEW FACES:

Kerby M. Cole has joined Terracon as senior project manager in charge of the company’s new Coeur d’Alene office. He will oversee projects in North Idaho and portions of Eastern Washington. Cole, who has 29 years of engineering and construction experience in industrial, transportation, geotechnical and environmental projects, is a registered engineer in Washington and Idaho. He previously was a project development engineer and a materials engineer for the Idaho Transportation Department and a regional water quality engineer for the Idaho Division of Environmental Quality. He earned a doctoral degree in engineering science (soil and water) from Washington State University.

David Cheslek has joined Fugazzi at Hotel Lusso as head pastry chef. Cheslek attended the Culinary Arts School in Grand Rapids, Mich., and subsequently worked for several five-star resorts, including the Royal Sonesta in New Orleans, Fairmont Hotel in New Orleans, Doral Telluride Resort & Spa in Colorado and a resort in the Virgin Islands.

Global Credit Union has hired Catrisse’ Glemaker as a member service representative at the credit union’s main office in downtown Spokane. Glemaker, who has two years of military experience, also is pursuing a teaching certificate.

Dan Lovell has joined Building America as sales designer. Lovell, who is based at the company’s Spokane headquarters, is responsible for Bonner, Boundary, Shoshone and Latah counties.

Windermere Real Estate has added the following people to its staff:

Judith Smith joined the company’s Pullman office as a sales associate. Smith previously owned and operated Six Pillars Consulting, a Pullman bookkeeping business. She also has previous real estate experience with Palouse Empire Realty in Pullman.

Dominick Musulman was named a sales associate for Windermere’s Spokane-North Wall Street office. Musulman previously worked at Gregg Jones & Associates in Spokane.

MOVING UP:

Kellie Sheldon has been named director of personnel for Holy Family Hospital. Sheldon received a bachelor’s degree in human resources management from Central Washington University and an MBA with an emphasis in organizational leadership from Gonzaga University.

Holy Family Hospital has appointed Janis Simpson as assistant vice president, performance improvement. Simpson, a certified public accountant, has worked in Holy Family’s accounting department for 5-1/2 years.

Great Clips has promoted the following employees:

Jodi Strenge was named manager of the hair salon at Northpointe Plaza. Strenge, who has been with Great Clips for four years, received her training at Glen Dow Academy. She was most recently assistant manager at the Northpointe location.

Jeanine Mahoney has been promoted to manager of the Liberty Lake store. Mahoney, who has been a stylist for more than 10 years, has been with Great Clips for five years and was most recently an assistant manager at the Southgate store.

Lorri Hansen was named manager of the Northtown Plaza store. Hansen, who joined Great Clips nearly three years ago, was most recently an assistant manager at the Five Mile Plaza and Northtown Plaza stores.

STARTING UP:

National Refractories & Minerals Corp. has opened a regional distribution center in the Spokane Business and Industrial Park. The California-based company will occupy 10,200 square feet in Building No. 15 at the park. The new location will serve customers in Central and Eastern Washington, all of Idaho and Montana and parts of Wyoming.

EXPANDING:

Fibertech is expanding its operations at the Spokane Business and Industrial Park with the addition of 40,000 square feet in Building No. 25. The additional space gives the company, which makes products for the transportation industry, more than 120,000 square feet at the park.

OPPORTUNITIES:

High school seniors who are the dependents of independent business owners in the Spokane area may apply for a $500 scholarship offered by the Padgett Business Services Foundation. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors who plan to attend a post-secondary accredited institution. In addition, the parent or legal guardian of the student must be an active owner of at least 10 percent of the stock or capital of a local business that employes fewer than 20 people.
