One of the Internet’s earliest accomplishments was bringing the far corners of the globe into the homes of surfers.
Later, city guides began appearing, offering local news and information about activities closer to home. Initial response to these sites was somewhat less than robust.
Undeterred, the pioneers of such sites are pushing ahead with plans to expand into new cities, beef up content and add services such as restaurant reservations and golf tee times.
