Washington 14 Section Reopens

Washington 14 on the north side of the Columbia River reopened at midday Friday after an overnight closure prompted by a landslide east of Washougal, a state Transportation Department spokeswoman said.

The slide Thursday was 200 feet wide and covered both lanes, blocking a culvert and sending mud and water over the road. No cars were caught in it.

The stretch of highway between Washougal and Bonneville was reopened shortly after noon, spokeswoman Clarissa Lundeen said.
