Bears senior fullback Joshua White is concerned about what the offense is doing to the defense. Cal converted only 2 of 16 third downs.

“The defense just can’t do this,” White said. “You can’t do this to any defense. There have only been four games and they’ve damn near played the whole game all the time. We’ve got to pick it up. They can’t score all the points and stop the people, too.”

Running back Marcus Fields struggled to explain what’s been wrong with the offense, which has failed to score an offensive touchdown against WSU in the teams’ last two meetings.

“As a whole offense we have our ups and downs,” said Fields. “We haven’t played to our potential but we’ve played better than we did today.”
