A bronze statue honoring literary canine “Old Yeller” was unveiled in Mason, Texas, Saturday as Texas first lady Laura Bush looked on. The faithful yellow lab was immortalized in Fred Gipson’s novel. Bush, Gipson’s son Beck and the sculptor, Garland Weeks, unveiled the statue.
