The deadline for applications to the Teen Advisory Council has been extended until Friday at 5 p.m.
TAC is an extension of the Chase Youth Commission and consists of students from Spokane County high schools and youth organizations. TAC projects for this year include organizing the annual Chase Youth Awards, creating a youth Web site, hosting the “To Make a Difference” contest and coordinating the annual battle of the bands competition.
Students from Rogers, Cheney, Medical Lake, West Valley, Lakeside, St. George’s and Spokane Valley Christian high schools are particularly needed, as well as students from alternative education programs and the home-school community.

Teens are invited to become involved in a variety of activities sponsored by 4-H. They include: New Theatre Group for 12- to 19-year-olds, which runs through Dec. 16. Students are needed for set design, costumes, makeup, dancing, music and acting. Call Beverly Bumpus at (509) 477-2166.
Inland Northwest Wind Instrument Class for Youth, open to all with a band instrument. Taught by John Baker, recently retired after 37 years with the Spokane Symphony.

Toastmasters for Teens (grades 7 and up) and Adults Who Like Working With Teens run through Nov. 18.
