Pitney Bowes Opens Center
Pitney Bowes, an office equipment maker, opened a new call center in Spokane Monday that is expected to employ 450 within three years.
The 52,000-square-foot office is located downtown at the Rockpoint East campus at 1313 N. Atlantic. The facility has been outfitted with more than 70 miles of fiber-optic lines to manage the average 15,000 calls a day the center receives.
Pitney Bowes had to delay the office’s opening about two weeks when Hurricane Floyd forced closure or disrupted service at the company’s three call centers on the East Coast.
Pitney Bowes now employs about 300 in Spokane.
