A forum for investors and entrepreneurs begins at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Bayou Brewery, 1003 E. Trent. A panel of area venture capitalists, including Pardner Wynn, who has started two high-tech firms, will speak.

Intel Corp. and the American Medical Association said Tuesday they are developing an online system to verify that Web users who dispense medical advice are indeed doctors. Such a system could be crucial for the next wave of Internet health care applications, which could let doctors share lab results and diagnose patients electronically.
