Search Expanded For Missing Woman

From Staff

Friends and family have launched an intense search for a Spokane woman missing since Monday.

Nancy Rockwell, 63, disappeared at about 12:30 p.m. after a trip to a fitness center near 56th and Regal.

Rockwell suffers from Alzheimer’s disease. She was last seen driving a green 1992 Ford Explorer with Washington plate number 940-EGS.

She was carrying no cash or credit cards when she disappeared, relatives said.

Her husband, Ed Rockwell, said Thursday that in addition to police, nearly 60 friends and relatives are searching for his wife.

The search has spread as far south as Pullman and east into Idaho, Ed Rockwell said. Helicopters have been used to scour southern Spokane County.

Police ask that citizens check parking lots and public garages for the missing Explorer. Anyone who finds the vehicle should not touch it but call police immediately.

Anyone with information on Nancy Rockwell’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
