Mike Connelly, Democrat

Connelly, 45, was born and raised in Spokane. He taught junior high at St. Aloysius in Spokane and has worked as an attorney in Spokane for the past 20 years. Ten years ago he moved to Latah, Wash. where he has served on the City Council and on the Liberty School Board. Connelly has been active in community and youth affairs, including teaching Sunday school, directing youth basketball and helping develop a small neighborhood park. Connelly, who is married and has five children, was recently named attorney of the year by the Spokane County Bar Association.

Connelly has a bachelor’s degree in history and education from the University of Washington and a law degree from Gonzaga.

As of Sept. 6, Connelly had raised $40,000 for his campaign. His Web site is http://www.mikeconnelly.com.
