Allen dedicated

I have worked with commissioner C. Ray Allen for several years as a commissioner for Spokane Valley Fire District No. 1.

In my view, Ray is the most knowledgable and dedicated member on the board.

Ray is totally committed to providing high quality medical and fire supression services to Valley citizens and has worked hard to ensure that the district constantly provides these services in an economical manner.

Even on the few occasions when I was not in agreement with Ray, I still had high regard for his views and knowledge.

I am writing in support of William “Bill” Anderson for the position of Spokane Valley Fire District No. 1 commissioner.

For years fire commissioners lacking firefighting experience have been making decisions affecting the delivery of fire and emergency medical service to Valley citizens. As a result, decisions made in the operation of the Valley Fire District and service to the public in general have suffered.

Retired station captain Bill Anderson would bring 29 years of actual firefighting and medical experience to the Valley Fire commission.

His addition to the commission would go a long way to reversing this trend of reduced service to the public.

This is not about demonizing the present group of five commissioners. It is about ensuring input from someone who actually provided these services.

Bill Anderson will be the voice the citizens of the Valley need. He was a trustee for the Washington State Council of Firefighters for over 25 years and is intimately familiar with all hands-on aspects of providing emergency service to the public.

He was the one who extinguished your kitchen fire. He was the one who provided life-saving CPR to your loved one.

He is also the last line of protection between you, the taxpayer, and questionable budgeting decisions. We need his voice on the Fire Commission. Please vote for Bill Anderson for Valley Fire commissioner. Patrick O. Schaffer Spokane
