Southeast Boulevard Extension Opens Friday

From Staff

The newly constructed section of Southeast Boulevard opens to traffic on Friday.

The new section runs southeast from 31st Avenue to the intersection of 34th Avenue and Regal Street. The project isn’t completed yet and there will be some restrictions.

Traffic going southeast will have to contend with narrow lanes to accommodate work in the median strip. A stop sign will be in place on Southeast Boulevard at Regal Street. In addition, northbound traffic won’t be able to make a left turn onto Southeast Boulevard.

These restrictions will be lifted when the project is completed around the middle of October. Work that remains includes landscaping and the installation of a traffic signal to control the intersection. The extension of Southeast Boulevard is intended to improve traffic flow in Lincoln Heights.
