Christian Parenting Class Offered

Opportunity Presbyterian Church, 202 N. Pines, will offer a class on “Effective Christian Parenting” beginning Wednesday.

The class will meet at 6:45 p.m. each Wednesday. Topics include discipline with love, surviving the phases, your child and school and building family traditions.

Bible study class at Berean

The Berean Bible Church, 10910 E. Boone, will begin a Precept Bible study class on Genesis on Wednesday.

The class will be offered from 9 to 11:15 a.m. and again from 6 to 8 p.m. each Wednesday. The cost is $16 for materials. Call Wendi at 921-9352 to register.

Berean will also host guest speaker San Vinton Sr. during its 8:30 and 11 a.m. worship services on Sunday. Vinton has served as a missionary to the people of the Congo for 70 years.

Women’s group meets at Foothills

Foothills Community Church is starting a women’s Bible study class called “God Is What I Need - Imagery in the Psalms.”

The class will be offered at 9:30 a.m. each Wednesday starting this week. Child care will be available.

Two-year course at Christ Lutheran

Christ Lutheran Church, 13009 E. Broadway, will begin a two-year Crossways Bible study course on Wednesday.

The class offers the opportunity for people to undertake a in-depth study of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. The class will run from 9:30 to 11 a.m. each Wednesday.

The cost is $50, which includes materials, and can be paid in installments. Call the church office at 928-7733 for more information or to register.

Christ Lutheran will also kick off its fall schedule on Sunday. Services now begin at 8:15 and 10:30 a.m. each Sunday with the education hour starting at 9:15 a.m. This week there will be a carnival during the education hour, where kids can make crafts and play games.

Millwood Sunday school

Millwood Community Presbyterian Church, 3223 N. Marguerite Road, is staring its new L.I.G.H.T. House Sunday school program for children in grades 1-8.

The program will teach one Bible story for several weeks, rotating children through classes utilizing drama, art, cooking, games and computers to teach the lessons. The first unit, “Joseph - Living in a Land of Many Colors,” will run through Oct. 10.

Children’s choir at Valley Assembly

A children in grades K-6 are invited to participate in the children’s choir at the Valley Assembly of God Church, 15618 E. Broadway.

Parents and children may attend a choir kick-off party at 5:30 p.m. Sunday to register.

Widows meet at Valley Fourth

Valley Fourth Memorial Church, 2303 S. Bowdish, is starting another year of the Widows Might program.

The interdenominational ministry is designed for widows of all faiths.

A luncheon will be served from 1 to 3 p.m. next Sunday at the church. The meal is free, but reservations must be made in advance by calling 924-4525.

Guest speaker at Valley Bible

The Valley Bible Church, 3021 S. Sullivan Road, will host guest speaker Billie Palmer at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Palmer, the mother of 19 children, will speak on setting life’s priorities from a Biblical perspective.

Dessert will be served. Admission is free, but an offering will be collected.

Barbecue at Opportunity Christian

Opportunity Christian Church, 708 N. Pines, will host its annual fall barbecue after the 10:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday.

People may bring their own meat to be put on the grill as well as a salad or dessert to share. Beverages will be provided, but those attending are asked to bring their own table service.

Fall programs begin

Holy Trinity Evangelical Church, 2511 S. Pines, will kick off its fall programs on Sunday.

One worship service will be held at 9 a.m., followed by Rally Day activities at 10:30 a.m.

A potluck picnic will begin at noon. The church will provide the hamburgers, those planning to attend are asked to bring a salad or dessert to share.

New worship schedule set

The fall worship schedule begins Sunday at the Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene, 10814 E. Broadway.

Services will now begin at 9:30 and 10:45 a.m.
