New faces:

Moss Adams LLP has hired the following people:

Jason Munn has joined the firm as a senior accountant in the tax department. His duties include providing general business tax services. Munn, a certified public accountant, previously was a senior in the audit department with BDO Seidman LLP in Spokane. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Washington State University.

Deborah Cruz joined Moss Adams as a staff accountant in the Business Assurance Services Group.

Cruz, a CPA with expertise in the not-for-profit industry, previously was a corporate accountant with The Navigators in Colorado Springs for seven years. She graduated from Whitworth College with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business management.

Scott C. Cifrese will join the law offices of Paine, Hamblen, Coffin, Brooke & Miller LLP as an associate, effective Oct. 1. Cifrese received his law degree from the University of Idaho College of Law in 1994 and is a candidate for a master’s degree in history from Gonzaga University. His practice will emphasize civil litigation. Cifrese previously practiced with the firm of Pike & Shurtliff P.A., in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Avista Corp. has added the following people to its Avista Utilities division:

Mary Lou Myers joined Avista Utilities as controller. She replaces Christy Burmeister-Smith, who was named vice president and corporate controller. Myers previously worked for Koch Industries in Houston and Wichita, Kan., where she held several positions, including director of trading accounting and controller/treasurer. She is a graduate of Montana State University.

Rhonda Horobiowski was named Avista Utilities director of generation and resources, replacing Don Kopczynski, who was named president of Avista Fiber. Horobiowski previously worked for Avista Corp. from January 1981 until January 1997. She obtained both undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Washington.

Moving up:

Gillian Chapman has been promoted to a regional position with Prestige Care Inc. Her responsibilities include new development and start-up operations for the company’s assisted living divisions. Chapman has worked for Prestige Care for several years, most recently as manager of Sullivan Park Assisted Living.

Joan Allen has been named manager of Sullivan Park Assisted Living Community, which is part of a Spokane Valley complex owned and operated by Prestige Care Inc. Allen has worked for Prestige Care for several years, most recently as director of resident and public relations for Sullivan Park Assisted Living.

Lindy Haunschild has been promoted to health program specialist III at the Spokane Regional Health District. She will administer the Parent-Child Assistance Program, a satellite program from the University of Washington’s School of Medicine for pregnant and postpartum women who suffer from addiction. Haunschild has worked in the recovery field for the past 12 years. She earned a master’s degree in counseling psychology from Gonzaga University, and is certified as a mental health counselor and chemical dependency counselor. Haunschild also coordinates the Women’s Resource Council.

Avista Utilities, a division of Avista Corp., has promoted Larry LaBolle to director of community development. He replaces Anne Marie Axworthy, who was recently named director of corporate communications. LaBolle joined the company in 1990 and most recently managed the relicensing of two major Avista Corp. hydroelectric projects. His new responsibilities include leading Avista’s support of local and regional economic development and business growth initiatives. LaBolle received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Idaho and a master’s degree from Oregon State University.
