Man Arrested After Pulling Gun

An 18-year-old man was arrested in downtown Spokane on Saturday night after he waved a .38-caliber, handgun at people, police said.

Joshua D. Bateman was arrested near The Spokesman-Review printing press building on Monroe at about 8 p.m. after running from police, said Sgt. Brad Arleth.

Bateman was charged with first-degree assault, possession of a controlled substance, and being a felon in possession of a firearm, authorities said.

The gunman had fought with a man outside the Otis Hotel, 110 S. Madison, said a hotel employee.
