Reward Offered To Solve Rape Case

From Staff

Secret Witness is offering a $1,000 reward for information that solves a Spokane rape case.

A 17-year-old developmentally disabled girl told police she was raped on the South Hill about 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 7.

The girl said she got off a bus at 14th and Bernard and was walking east on 14th when a man pulled her into a brushy area near a water tower.

The victim told police the man gagged and raped her, then bound her wrists and ankles and left her in the undergrowth.

She eventually freed herself and went for help.

The girl said the rapist is white, in his late 30s to mid-40s. He is 6 feet tall and 160 to 190 pounds, with brown hair and a mustache.

The victim said he was wearing a blue and green long-sleeved shirt, black trousers and sandals at the time of the attack.

Anyone with information on the suspect’s identity is asked to call Secret Witness at 327-5111. Callers don’t have to give their names to be eligible for the reward.
