Sweat For Wildlife
Gamlin Lake
Volunteers are being sought to help build trails and plant trees Saturday on the public lands surrounding Gamlin Lake east of Sagle, Idaho.
Since 1992, the 400 acres around the lake have been managed by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and The Nature Conservancy. The area has great potential for viewing wildlife, especially birds.
The work party coincides with National Public Lands Day, a national event to rally support for upgrading the recreation potential of state and federal lands.
Volunteers should pre-register by Wednesday with Bill Cook, BLM’s coordinator in Coeur d’Alene at (208) 769-5042. Workers will meet at the lake’s parking area at 10 a.m. Saturday. Another group meets at 8:30 a.m. to carpool from BLM’s Coeur d’Alene office, 1808 N. Third.
Plan to wear long-sleeve shirts and pants, plus boots and gloves. Bring rain gear, lunch and water.
